The usage time varies for each individual horse, depending on the purpose for use. Start by using the RecoveryRug when you are going to be around the horse so that you can monitor the effect of the rug on each horse. Place the RecoveryRug on for one to five hours and feel how much heat your horse generates. This will depend on several factors including the climate, breed of horse and diet. If excessive sweating is taking place, apply the rug only for short periods. You may decide that one or two hours a day is sufficient, or maybe you will achieve better results from longer periods of use. On some horses, in colder climates, it is possible to use the product safely overnight, but test the product on your horse beforehand. Each horse and situation is different and should be treated as such. VERY successful in assisting the removal of a long, thick winter coat in a very short time frame.
