User Guidelines
Mirotec is a heat reflective material which also permits the passage of water vapour. Research has indicated that reducing heat loss from injury sites promotes the healing process and assists recovery. Mirotec conserves body heat by reflecting infra-red radiation and reduces discomfort by allowing excess moisture to escape. Mirotec is light, robust and easy-to-use.

When first using Mirotec products they should be used under supervision. For animals, we recommend that you begin using Mirotec when you are going to be around the animal for a couple of hours. If in any doubt seek professional advice before treating any injury.

Precautions
Keep Mirotec out of the reach of children. The packaging and Mirotec itself could cause suffocation. Mirotec products should be hand-washed, or sponge-wiped to keep clean. If particularly dirty they can be gently machine washed on a cold cycle only. DO NOT SPIN DRY. Hang up to dry only.

The porous construction of Mirotec allows the escape of water vapour, but do check to ensure that excessive sweating is not taking place. If this does occur then Mirotec should be applied for short periods only.

Directions for use
Place your Mirotec product onto the affected area with the foil side against the skin.

It is recommended that you do not use any heating agents with Mirotec.

Check the effect that Mirotec has on the skin initially every 30 minutes until you get a feel of how much heat is produced.

Some individuals / animals produce more heat than others so this time will vary. Weather conditions will also be a factor.

It is then up to you to decide with your specialist's advice how much heat you need in the area to treat a particular injury.

For horses, placing a heavier rug on top of the Mirotec will retain maximum heat, but do not leave on for a long period of time unattended.

Mirotec foil, if torn, can be 'spot welded' with the front tip of a domestic iron.
